Before
we go any further, let me say that Chalk
Ridge is not for everyone. Chalk Ridge is for
the hunter, the back-woods-person, or the serious
recluse. If you drive a car, you're
going to have plenty of problems getting
there lots of the time. Because of a
small creek that washes across the road when
it rains hard and because of the genuinely
remote nature of this land, we'd strongly
recommend you have at least a two-wheel-drive
pick-up truck and we think that if you do,
you'll wish it was four-wheel-drive on many
occasions. Enough said?
Chalk Ridge is actually composed
of two broad ridges covered with a
very valuable stand of White Oaks. We've
built our two access roads along these
ridges, so you can expect any of these
parcels to slope downward from the road. This
is an interesting location. It's not far
(about 4½ miles) from the Lake of the
Ozarks, but because it lies at the end of a
road which was built many years ago, but
never opened, it's still quite
secluded. If
you're attracted to the woods and like the
idea of having the Lake of the Ozarks just a
short drive away, you'll want to consider
Chalk Ridge.

GETTING THERE:
To
access this property reliably, you'll need at
least a 2-wheel-drive pickup with good ground
clearance, and we recommend a
4-wheel-drive. Check out the photos
above.
From Camdenton, take Highway 5
north out of town and across the lake about 9
miles to where Highway 7 turns left or west.
Take Highway 7 approx. 6 miles to Lake Road
7-9 which is adjacent to a small country
store. From there, you go about 7/10 mile to
the third gravel road to the left (west),
from there take the second road left. the
first to the right, and after crossing a
stream and traveling about half a mile,
follow the left turn that goes sharply up
hill. When you get to an
intersection with a turn-around circle, then
you're on the map below.
