The first mile after you leave pavement is not all that bad.  You could take any sort of regular passenger car to the end of that mile.  After that point, however, you still have about a mile and a half to go, and you'll need to be prepared to deal with steep, eroded hills like the one shown in this photo...  We just had the whole road bulldozed anew last summer, 2007.  The road is still pretty muddy and an ice storm has gone through recently leaving several branches and trees across the road.

We have cleared enough of the downed wood to get back to the property in a four-wheel-drive.  If you have a vehicle that will get you in now, you shouldn't have any problem getting in and out year-round.
