To
get to Clearwater Mountain, first take Highway south out of Ellington
for about two miles. Then turn left, which will be east, on
Highway H.
Along
Highway H, if it's a clear day you'll be able to see Taum Sauk Mountain,
the highest point in Missouri, on your left. As you get closer to
the lake, you'll start to see homes and cabins scattered along the
highway. There are also a few businesses, a dry marina, tiny
convenience store and a funky little tavern/cafe.
You'll
take Highway H almost all the way to where it ends on Clearwater Lake,
but just before the road begins it's descent to the lake, just after you
see two "dead end" signs on either side of the road, you'll
see the white crushed limestone of our new road which may or may not
have a Stop sign and a sign designating this as Road No. 528. (I
not, the county will be installing these soon.)
